We're Between 'Pings' Right Now

      (TracyWebbGallery)
I don't know if I've mentioned it to you, but hubby has been on vacation from work for a little while now.  We didn't have anything particular planned to do, or anywhere particular planned to go. Nothing gave us that 'Ping!' that says: "Ooooo! You should....!"...So, we've just been taking it easy, enjoying the time together.
       Mostly we've just been...
         (hedium)
        ...laying around...Listening to music...taking naps!... :-)
         (SGArtandFashion)
...and doing some occasional laughing!! ^_^ (You'd have to be here!) It's been the 'Perfect' vacation!
Frankly, we've been so NOT 'Pinged' to do anything, that we almost forgot about Friday 'Date Night' this week!! O_0 I mean...why do you need a 'Date Night' when the whole week has been one big date?!! ^_^
     Part of this week hubby has spent trying to salvage whatever plants the storm left in his garden. And guess what? He's got 3 sunflowers...at least...that are hanging on and fighting for dear life!!! :-) And they're starting to bloom too!!...He snuck out REALLY early in the morning to get these photos of them. {I think he thought they might try to get away if he waited until the sun rose! LOL}
The vacation might have been worth it just to have him with a smile back on his face!...Be thankful I didn't show you that sad dejected puss after the storm the other day!! It wasn't pretty! ^_^
There also was a little Library visit this week...
      (hedium)
Me and Miss Jane Austen are getting along swimmingly!!! ^_^ (Who knew the written version of 'Pride and Prejudice' would be as good as the movie?!!)
         (Elisa Writes)
We've also been eating pretty good this week! In fact my friend made us a delicious vegetable salad yesterday, straight from her garden!! :-) It was so good!!...Hmmmm...will tomatoes and cucumbers, lettuce and other eatable things, start showing up in hubby's garden next year?!...To Be Continued!! LOL
So, this Friday 'Date Night' we're giving the luggage a break....
       (Brooklynretro)
We won't be out on the Interstate Highway going anywhere...
           (PipeDreams2010)
...We won't be on planes, trains, in automobiles, on buses or in streetcars...
         (jessamae22)
We're just gonna be having a 'Staycation' right here at home. :-)
      (heathere2844)
...Unless, of course, we get a 'Ping!' to do something or go somewhere else!! ^_^
I don't suspect that's gonna happen this week though...I'm between 'Pings' on a few things...Hubby found these......I don't even know what to call them!....the other day when he was reorganizing my Office/Storage room...
There was a whole bag of them!!...I vaguely remember my friend giving them to me last year some time. I think she had gotten them from someone who had bought them to do projects out of, but she never got around to them.
They're very pretty! And somebody went to a lot of trouble making them...My friend thought I'd be able to maybe crochet some backs for them, or something, and make some pretty brooches out of them!....But I never got 'Pinged!' to do it.
...In fact, I forgot completely that I had them!! O_0 So 'Come On Inspiration!! PING Me!!!!' ^_^
While I'm waiting for that to happen, hubby and I will be in the backyard, looking at the stars. :-)
      (hedium)
Ring me.....or 'Ping!' me....if you need something! ^_^ Otherwise, have a good weekend everybody!!!

"Ping!"

Do you find that you have lulls?
Times when life just has no 'Pings!'
Times when all that you've been planning
has been done! ... and nothing 'sings!'

You don't know what you should do.
Taking naps seem so sublime!
Knowing, when you look around,
that No! You haven't wasted time!

Lots of things have all been done.
But there's so many things you could do.
But nothing 'Pings': "Let's do this next!!"
The lull just gets the best of you.

Right now I'll try to ride the wave.
No expectation. Just relax.
Keep flipping books for inspiration.
Enjoying colors, brights and blacks.

Soon I know I'll be off again,
deeply engrossed in some new thing.
I'll get such satisfaction from it.
And that familiar little...'Ping!'

  3. CinLynn, Yes, that's exactly what I think I'm going to do with these pieces...make brooch centerpieces out of them. Maybe they would be good on a pocketbook or hat too!...Sorry about the 'vegetable' thing. I forgot the word "salad". Ha! Ha! {My brain moving faster than my fingers again! LOL}...By the way, we're getting more rain...buckets of it in fact...today. It's DARK right now!! Great weather for reading Jane Austen! :-) Say hi to the grands for me. Have a good day!!

  5. It is always great when you find cool things that you forgot you had. It will be interesting to see how you use them. I am glad that your hubby was able to find like in his garden after the storm. I love hearing about your date nights. I think that having a nice relaxing date and watching the stars is just as romantic as going to Paris:) Have a wonderful weekend!

  6. I'm so happy to hear that your hubby's smile is coming back (or at least is threatening to come back lol!). I think it was really sad when I read how the garden being devastated affected him.

Hope you enjoy your friday date night!

This weekend is Caribana here, but we're just sitting back at home and relaxing I think!

Staycations are great aren't they! We often have those kinds of holidays in our house.
Those fancy creations would look great as necklaces or accents on hats. I'm sure that you will come up with something wonderful for them :)
Enjoy your date night with hubby!

  14. Jo-anne, Hubby says thank you very much for the nice words about his "babies". And I thank you for the nice words about mine too! ^_^ Hubby is 'slightly' worried about his 'babies' tonight. There's a LOT of wind in the backyard this evening...and a rain storm due as an overnight thing. Hopefully he'll still have some sunflowers by daybreak!!! LOL...And yes, Staycations are the best! No expense and nothing but rest and relaxation...and eating good, I might add! :-)

I appreciate the connections and enjoy your poetry, Miss Wug. :) Pam
