In The Interest Of FULL Disclosure.......!

Okay! Okay!...I know I've been bombarding you with my crochet flowers, keychains, pillow covers......and STUFF lately! So, in the interest of 'full disclosure', let me tell you why....Uhhhh....I need to make some money, that's why! LOL
Okay, that's not the ONLY reason...which those of you who've been following my blog for a while already know! Part of the reason is that I just like to make my flowers. :-) ...And, as you can see in the header photo, I'm not the only one!...Liz, from the blog Mill Girl, likes to make them too!
In fact, Liz, unbeknownst to her probably, has been an inspiration for me for about a year or so. I came across her shop on Etsy, madeinlowell, saw her flower creations, and realized she was a kindred spirit...so to speak. ^_^ She loves making her flowers as much as I do!! And she's ventured into areas I haven't...Yet. Like making flower rings!...They're so cute!
She also makes felted flower hair clips! You can see one HERE...I've seen the video of her on Martha Stewart's show, teaching Martha how to make polymer clay eggs, and I always check her blog to see what craft shows she's done lately...She's very informative about how well they do, and what they're selling. She even shares photos of her booth and tips on selling at craft shows!...I've never sold at a craft show, but she's inspiring me to get more informed about it. Maybe one day........actually, maybe one day SOON! :-]
She inspires me because I crochet so much and so easily that I sometimes have a tendency to under-value my work...But then I look at her, a local Massachusetts girl, so successful...on Martha Stewart, and NOW...with her own T.V. show!...and I think: "Wow! What you do is not that shabby!....It's 'Ugly', but it's not shabby!" LOL...Maybe I 'could' make a lucrative business out of my crocheting and poetry! :-)
So, that's what I've been gearing myself toward of late. And in the interest of MORE 'full disclosure', me and a girlfriend have been batting around the idea of maybe doing a craft fair.....somewhere...this summer! That's why I've been making so many necklaces, brooches and keychains lately. I'm trying to load up inventory for that 'imaginary craft show' that I may, or may not, be doing this summer. ^_^
I'm focusing on making jewelry because I know that crochet jewelry isn't gonna be a spot-lighted item at every craft show. I don't think that many people make it...except me and Liz, I mean. :-) And I don't need to make any more headbands or scarves! Phew! I've got enough of those to supply a hard winter in the Alaskan outback....and then some!! LOL
No, no scarves for me! It's gonna be crochet flower jewelry all summer......Sorry, ahead of time. LOL

Okay! So I'm not 'THAT' sorry! ^_^ ... Have a good day Everybody! :-)

 I'm.......Sorry?

"I'm sorry" doesn't roll like butter
from my wordy tongue.
Maybe it's because it tried a few times
and got hung!

Maybe it's because
I like my sentences to be long.
Or maybe it's because
I need more practice being wrong!

    1. I love them too, Bead! I had thought of how I would make some like that a long time ago, but when I saw hers I figured that it had already been done the best way I know how to...so I moved on! ^_^ ... And I, too, hope we get into a craft show...and that we sell things! LOL Have a good day, Cindy!

  2. Oh wow, I had no idea I was being so helpful! You put your stuff out there and you never know who it will reach and how it will affect them. This is very gratifying, thanks so much for the kind post. Your work is lovely and I know you'd do great at a good show. I send wishes for good luck in moving your handmade business forward!

    1. Hi Liz!...Yes, I knew you didn't have any idea I was stalking you...*Teehee*...but I have. And for quite a while too! I love your work, and I love the fact that you share your info and experience with those of us trying to make a go of our little handmade businesses. Even without you knowing you were doing it, you've taught me a lot. Thank you! And keep up the good work! I still have lots to learn, and thanks to you, I'm gaining confidence all the time. ^_^

    1. Thanks for the nice words about the poem and flowers, Velma! :-] And I'm sure we'll find a craft show somewhere around here. There's always tons of them!...I hope I can find a crafty place as comfortable as the teams you're in nowadays! :-) Have a good rest of the day!

  5. I love the flower rings, I too make crochet jewelry although I do not blog about it that much I have a ton for my crafting shows and you are right it is not made by many, but it also does not sell really well at some of my crafting shows. I think the economy is so low that it makes it difficult to make any $$ these days from our crafts, but I do so enjoy doing the craft fairs and meeting other crafters and the buyers...good luck...I do love your flowers. ~~Debb~~ PS: can you tell me do you have trouble finding my blog through my ID name? Since I changed to Google+ I seem to have lost the easy profile access I had before with just blogger????

    1. Hi!! ^_^ ... Yes, the flower rings are so cute!...Now, about the craft show, I'm kinda disappointed to hear that the crochet jewelry doesn't sell that well. :-( I was kinda hoping that all I had to do was get it out there and maybe it would take off!....Oh well. I'll give it a shot in this area anyway, and see what flies. ^_^ I would LOVE to see some of your jewelry too though! Do you make rings also?...About the ID name, I don't use that. I "added" you on my Blogger dashboard and you show up in my list!...I know that because I just did it! *Teehee* I had lost you for a while...I've found you now though, so watch out!! ^_^ Have a good rest of the day!

  6. Those flower rings definitely are cute.
How can you say the stuff you make is ugly? I certainly don't think it is.
I love the idea of you doing a craft show :) I'm sure that you will keep us up to date on that idea.

    1. I agree about the rings, Jo!...And I call my things 'Ugly' in a flippant kinda way because that's one of the reasons I put my scarves online in my etsy shop in the first place...people were saying they were 'ugly' because of all of the colors I used to make them. Not traditional looking. But hey! I love them!...Ugly or whatever!!...And yes I will keep you informed about the 'ugly' craft show! LOL
