What To Do In A Pinch

     "OUCH!!!" and other words to display my discomfort are all that my hubby has heard for 3 or so days now. I have a very bad pinched nerve...or something...in my arm. Even typing right now is uncomfortable for me. I have to put my hand in just the right position and do a lot of the work with my off hand.
   So, since I can't talk as much today...so to speak...I'm going to do what people in a pinch do------Short cuts!! :-) I'm starting with showing you the beautiful Desktop Calendar for October 2010 that Mariann, over at the Nature and Wildlife Photography Blog, is letting all of us download for FREE! You can read all about it when you follow the link. I can tell you that she has versions for those in the U.S. and in Europe! Isn't that great! This calendar is only a sample of her photography too! You have to see her Etsy shop!!
   Mariann is not the only person giving away free stuff! csnstores.com is giving my U.S. and Canadian blog readers a FREE gift worth $55.00. You can see the details to enter here.
   Also, Vicki and Maddy Girl, over on the blog "2 Bags Full...", will be giving away this little Harvest Nest on November 1st!

       Follow the link over there to see how you can enter! I know one thing she does say is this: "My readers from all over the world are welcome to enter this contest. I will happily send this little nest to you where ever you live. (Remember-the last little contest nest was mailed to Russia!)
    Last, but not least, my Sage Green Classy Button Flower Brooch...
     ...has been included in littletoad's Treasury entitled "Are you goin' to Scarborough Fair?"
    Please go by and check out the other shops too!! Thanks littletoad!!
   I apologize that the post took me so long to do today, but I had to take some breaks. Now, off to rest the arm...OUCHing all the way!!!

I Used To Be Able

I used to be able to walk
without giving thought to every step.
I used to be able to exercise
with no hesitation, or lack of pep.

I used to be able to study for hours,
and my thoughts were as clear as a bell.
I could see so clearly what to underline.
(Now-if I do, I can`t tell!)

I used to be able to just jump out of bed,
with my movements preceding my brain;
But now there is first, lots of thought,
then a cane-preceded by pain!

I used to be able to sleep through the night,
without flipping from left to right;
But now I wake up as `Hot as can be`,
and sweating like I`ve been in a fight.

I used to be able to eat what I wanted,
and my body would just burn it off;
But now, not only does it sit where it lands,
but I get indigestion and cough!

I used to be able to paint my own toes;
and stand in the shower to wash my hair;
But now I depend on people that I pay
to pretty me up-and to care.

I used to be able to dance `heel-to-toe`;
and take deep breaths to sing.
As you can see from this poem, things have changed;
Now I hum and dance, stumbling.

Its really okay that I`m not quite the same;
It just means that I`ve been `round the bend.`
I`ve matured and grown up and got settled with it,
`cause one day I`ll do it all again.

  6. CinLynn, It's nice t be missed! :-) It's so aggravating to not be able to be my talkative self! But every time I do the slightest bit of typing it gets flared up again! I'm probably going to have to lay low for a few days in order to let it heal. I'll be putting my blog up though...less talking, but up! I miss chatting with you!! :-(

  12. I hear ya, sister! I'm so sorry you're dealing with a pinched nerve. It does seem like it's always something now, doesn't it?! I hurt my knee yesterday and when my husband asked me what I'd done, I said I have no idea. Basically nothing but kneel and walk.. guess I'm going to have to watch that now. : )
    Heal fast!

  13. I'm sorry you're not feeling well. :[ I had a nerve problem after giving birth that I was able to cure with accupunture. It only took 2 visits, and it was alot cheaper than my prior trips to the neurologist(who told me I had nothing wrong with me. ha!) I hope you get to feeling better soon.

    ps. Thank you for always making me giggle with your sweet comments. they make my day. :]
